Final Thoughts

I made a mistake while designing the voltage step down part, on the HT7463B datasheet its mentioned that the enable max voltage is 5V. In the schematic I drive the enable pin with the input voltage. So for the first board I managed to blow the HT7463B IC. After realizing and performing more tests I found out that the IC works fine for a voltage up to 16V, so right now Im driving the whole board with 12V. In the future I will use a 1M ohm resistor to drive the Enable pin from high voltages. Also a bigger capacitor on the input voltage would make things a little smoother because of the voltage spikes caused by the motor..
